Chowmein is a Chinese recipe that is found on every Indian street. This recipe is loved by everyone from children to adults. But the materials used in roadside vendors and in restaurants also are harmful to our health. So, why not make tasty veg chowmein at home with minimum ingredients. The taste of this chow mein will be very very tasty. So, take a look at this amazing recipe.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams of noodles
  • About 2 cups of cabbage 
  • 1/2 cup carrots 
  • 1/2 cup capsicum 
  • 1/4 cup spring onion 
  • onion 
  • 5-6 garlic cloves 
  • 1-2 green chilies 
  • 3 tbsp soya sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp green chili sauce (or add as per taste) 
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • tbsp cooking oil
Cutting The Veggies/ Assembling process

1. Cut the cabbage into thin slices.
2. Cut the carrot, capsicum, green chilies, and onion into thin slices.
3. Chop the spring onion into very fine pieces.
* Keep the white part and green part of the spring onion separately.
I didn't have spring onions and cabbage because of offseason that's why I have not given its pictures.

How to make?
1. Take water in a container (1 liter) and wait for the water to boil. Now, add salt to the boiling water.
2. Now add the noodles in the boiling water.

3. Boil the noodles till they become soft. (Take a piece of boiled noodle and pull it, if it breaks easily then the noodles are perfectly cooked. )
4. Take a Chinese pan and start heating it in high flame. 
5. Add oil and stir it continuously using a spatula till smoke comes out from the oil.
6. Add green chilies and ginger and stir fry them for about 1 minute on high flame.
7. Now, add cabbage, the white part of the spring onion, and carrot and cook for 1-2 minutes. Now add capsicum and onion and fry them stirring them continuously for 2 minutes on high flame.

8. Add the boiled noodles, vinegar, soya sauce, and give it a good mix.

9. Now add the tomato sauce, chilly sauce, salt, black pepper, green part of the spring onion and mix well. Toss the chowmein for 1-2 minutes on high flame and the Chowmein is ready to serve. 

Serve it hot with some chicken chili / Manchurian/ paneer chili.
